Gentle Reins

We use the healing power of horses to build trust and leadership for youth and men in recovery. A nonprofit organization.

Trust • Healing • Leadership • Growth • Compassion • Recovery • Trust • Healing • Leadership • Growth • Compassion • Recovery

Our Mission

We believe that trust is the foundation of healing. Through the unique bond with horses, we empower youth and men in recovery to build leadership skills and personal growth. We utilize the Peace Triangle. Peace is connected to Trust, Trust is connected to Actions. and Actions is connected back up to Peace

01

Building Trust

We focus on establishing a safe, non-judgmental environment where participants can learn to trust themselves and others through the horse-human connection.

02

Leadership Development

By navigating the horse's needs, participants develop empathy, responsibility, and decision-making skills that translate directly into their daily lives.

03

Healing Hearts

We provide a compassionate space for troubled youth and men in recovery to find peace, rebuild their self-worth, and find a new path forward.

The Unique Role of Horses in Healing

Horses are not just animals; they are living mirrors that reflect our deepest emotions and intentions. In our program, we leverage this unique bond to help youth and men in recovery build the foundational trust required for lasting personal growth.

By learning to communicate with and lead a horse, participants discover that leadership is not about control, but about mutual respect and presence. This shift in perspective transforms their relationships and empowers them to lead with empathy and integrity.
